Ways to Make More Money without Growing your Audience


We often think: More money = more clients

While this can certainly be true, it can also lead to burnout if you don't have the capacity to handle more clients.

The reality is actually, one of the easiest ways to make more revenue is to sell to your existing clients.

I've seen firsthand the magic that happens when we focus on deepening relationships with current clients. When I launch VIP days, 70% of the spots get snapped up by current clients.

Hello. Hello. And welcome to this episode of the Magnetic Woman Podcast.

Today, I'm gonna be sharing with you a few ways that you can make more money, more revenue - without more clients. The reason why I believe this one is so important is we often think the easiest way to make more revenue is to sell to more new clients.

But the reality is actually, one of the easiest ways to make more revenue is to sell to your existing clients.

So, I'm gonna be telling you a few ways that you could do that in this episode.

So let's begin.

How do we optimise our revenue without needing new clients?

The first thing that I want to share is upsell to current clients.

I'm gonna give you a personal story about how this works.

When I announce my VIP day spaces (so I have a half day and a VIP day and I typically announce one a month), 70% of the time they get booked up by my current clients.

That's right.

So current current clients who want an extra VIP day experience with me in real life. This is just testament to how easy it can be to upsell to your current clients.

Now, I don't purposely go out to current clients and say, ‘Hey, I'm doing this. Do you want it first?’

I announce it on Instagram and my clients end up booking in.

So right now, another example, we're opening up spaces for a two day retreat called CAPTIVATE. And once again, it's current and former clients who have inquired first, and we're only now just opening up to speak to it to a wider audience.

So, a really easy way for you to make more money without needing more clients is to

upsell to your current clients.

So what could this look like?

Now, similar to me, this could look like VIP days, a VIP half day.

It could look like a group day retreat.

It could look like extra coaching or support spaces.

Or, it could look like a Done For You service that would support their current goal.

I haven't shared this publicly before, but often my clients come to me and I write their copy for them.

That is - obviously, as a copywriter, as a marketeer, and a storyteller - one of my superpowers. And so often I do provide a Done For You service for my clients, and obviously they they pay an additional fee or investment for that.

So, thinking about your ideal clients right now, thinking about any challenges or themes that are coming up for them collectively - is there something that you could create, that you could sell in to support them in that process?

So that's the first one.

The next is optimising your thank you pages.

I believe thank you pages are so underestimated, so unseen in the online world.

It's like, oh, a landing page.

We spend all the time perfecting the copy, and then the thank you page is like, ‘check your inbox’.

Oh, okay.

So here's how we can do this.

The first is, if you do have, let's say, a landing page to a conversion event, whether that's a masterclass, a challenge or a download, you can optimise the thank you page to encourage that person to take action.

Now, that might look like a really low price point offer that relates to the theme of conversion event or lead magnet.

It might be that you have a one time offer of, let's say, some business breakthrough calls that you could include on that thank you page. (I would be very specific here about who it's for and what you get, so you don't attract any time wasters or people who aren't relevant for that call).

Or, you could very simply use that thank you page to encourage a different kind of call to action, such as asking them to sign up to a newsletter or subscribe to a podcast or refer a friend.

So, have a think about all of the thank you pages that you have in the ether of the back end of your business.

How can you optimise them? Is there a low price point offer? Is there an opportunity to book a call for a one time offer? Is there something that becomes a personal touch point, like a review or an audit? Ultimately, how can you optimise that thank you page?

Now if said client, beautiful audience, beautiful heart in your world, has bought something that is a low cost offer, you can also use the thank you page (which ultimately would be the checkout page thank you) to include a one time offer.

So that, again, could be an extra exclusive offer (that supports the original that they signed up to) that is of a similar, or more expensive, price point.

It might be extra coaching to support the purchase or as an upgrade to that purchase. You can use the thank you page with a VSL (a video sales letter) directing them to another course that may solve the problem that they're currently facing.

So, let's say that I download a resource which is How to Scale your Business. And then, on the Thank You page, there's a VSL speaking to the easiest way to scale your business is to optimise your live launches, head here to the Magnetic Live Launch method, which is currently on offer for XYZ.

So you're using that thank you page as a way to drive your audience to the next step, or the next solution for them based on their current problem.

So, there's many different ways that you can optimise that thank you page, and I hope that this one has given you food for thought.

The next is your order bumps.

Order bumps can increase revenue by thirty percent.

So what does this look like?

Once your client is at the checkout, credit card is in hand, they are ready to purchase from you. This is where you can upgrade or offer an aligned upgrade to their current purchase.

This could, again, look like an extra exclusive offer or resource or pack of resources that support the original that they signed up to. It might be a template bundle that accompanies the training or the course, or again, it could be extra coaching packages as an upgrade to the purchase.

So anything that is going to support the original purchase.

And again, order bumps can increase revenue by thirty percent because that that person is already like, ‘I'm in’. All you're doing with an order bump is saying, ‘you've got this, would you like this too?’ (Knowing that it's relatable to the original purchase, please always make it relatable).

It can't be something that doesn't make any sense at all, because that might often be the thing that loses the purchase completely.

Something that's really aligned to the original offer, that will support them in that journey based on problem/solution.

So, that's your order bumps.

And then the next is the one time offer.

This is where, instead of you offering the order bump at the time of checkout, you offer once that person has checked out, you almost use that Thank You page or that landing page as a way to upsell.

Now typically, I find that this is something that works at a slightly higher price point. So, not just an additional $29 add-on, but something that is much more personal to

a, the purchase, and

b, you.

I'm gonna give you a personal example here.

So, we have a funnel that runs for the Magnetic Live Launch method, which is my self study training to support my clients to plan, execute, and scale their live launches and funnels. Okay?

On our Thank You page, once they have purchased that self study offer, we have a one time offer that they can only get on that page, and it is for a personal review of their landing page, their thank you page, and their sales page by me.

So typically, that 60 - 90 minutes of my time would be £555. On that page, they get fifty percent off. So they get it for £277. This is only available on that page.

And the reason that it makes so much sense is I've already spoken to how powerful it is to have really powerful copy on a landing page, a thank you page and a sales page in the conversion event, which is a masterclass.

So, what I'm doing on that thank you page is creating a VSL that really speaks to a way that we can optimise what you're going to learn in the Live Launch Method, is by having my eyes on your copy, knowing that that can increase conversions by an additional minimum five percent.

So you make it relevant and it's really personal.

Another thing that could have worked on that page was some one to one sessions. But for me, actually, I think there's so much power in the optimisation of the copy as much as there is the coaching itself.

So, there you have your one time offers.

And so to recap:

  • we have the upsells to current clients,

  • we have the optimising your thank you page,

  • your order bumps,

  • and your one time offer.

Now I guarantee that if you start to implement even one of these into your strategy over the next ninety days, you will start to see more revenue coming into the business without doing anything else.

This is what I'm supporting my clients with day in, day out, and we are seeing some incredible results by simply just optimising things that are already going on within the business.
